New York City, New York, USA
The Big Apple, here it is, the largest city in the USA. She's brash, big, and tough as nails. Burned, scarred, blown up, and beaten, even a war 200 years ago; she's seen it all and beaten it all folks, and she aint layin down for nobody. You disrespect New York? She'll chew your ass up and spit you out in a body bag with cinder-blocks tied to you. It's called the East River. |

Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan, New York City
Hell's Kitchen ...more than a neighborhood...it's a state of mind. From the slaughterhouses and breweries of the 1800s, the draft riots of 1863, the Fighting 69th of World War I, the home of New York's most dangerous criminals from the early tenement days to Prohibition to the Westies, Hell's Kitchen rose from the blood and fire of the poor. |

Lower East Side, Manhattan, New York City
One of the oldest neighborhoods of the city, the Lower East Side has long been known as a lower-class, working neighborhood and often as an outright slum. The Lower East Side once was, and in a few parts still is, a center for Eastern European Jewish immigrant culture. More recently, it has been settled by immigrants from Latin America and elsewhere. |

Harlem, Manhattan, New York City
Not surprisingly, as a neighborhood with a long history of marginalization and economic deprivation, Harlem has long been associated with crime. In the 1920s, the white mafia (both Jewish and Italian) played a major role in running the whites-only nightclubs in the neighborhood, and the speakeasies that catered to a white audience. Mobster Dutch Schultz controlled all liquor production and distribution in Harlem in the 1920s. |

The Strip, Downtown Reno
Spanning Virginia Street, this is the condensed row of Casinoes that once rivaled that of Las Vegas. Having bowed down to Las Vegas and Atlantic City, Reno still remains a popular destination for gamblers, but the decay of the industry has left it in near ruin. Older and more historical than Vegas, many older casinoes still exist here. |

Brightmoor
Brightmoor is a neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan. It stretches from Fenkell Road and Southfield Freeway to Fenkell and Telegraph Road.Since its creation in the 1920s, the Brightmoor area in northwest Detroit has been home to thousands of working class families. It was a poor but stable community, but racial tensions and an influx of slumlords in the 1970s and 1980s changed much of the area into a "wasteland of vacant buildings and a haven for drug addicts and prostitutes." The area has suffered abandonment, vandalism, crime and population loss. |
